The hall

A wide wooden floor, a carved ceiling ringed with warm light, walls in exposed brick and embossed metal tile, and tall curtained windows that look straight out into the green. It changes character with the way you lay it out — round tables and white chairs for a seated dinner, cleared for a sangeet, lounge seating along the sides for a quieter evening.

The bar counter runs along one end, with the kitchen behind it, so food and drinks never have to travel. Guests who have come a long way can take a room upstairs rather than drive back down the hill at night.

Dinner without getting back in the car

The kitchen and bar are on the premises, which matters more than it sounds when you have driven down from Mullayanagiri in the dark and the town is still fifteen minutes away.

Booking the hall

Four steps, and most of it happens on the phone.

    Call or send an enquiry with the date, the occasion and roughly how many people you expect.

    Come and see it

    Walk the hall, see how it lays out and talk through the menu with the kitchen.

  3. 3

    Fix the menu and the rate

    Veg, non-veg or both, the bar arrangement, and any rooms you need for guests staying over.

  4. 4

    Confirm with an advance

    The date is held once the advance is paid. Terms and cancellation: to confirm
